Kärcher Consumer Cleaning and Care Agents
Friendly to the Environment – Strong against Dirt

For over 30 years Kärcher has emphasized the importance of environmental sustainability and the conservation of resources in the selection of their raw materials as well as in the development and production of both cleaning agents and care agents. Compliance with laws regarding biological degradability is a matter of course – our aspiration is to surpass the stipulations of these laws.


In the manufacture of Kärcher cleaning and care agents we exclusively use raw materials that meet our high demands regarding ease of use and environmental compatibility. For this reason we do not use controversial substances such as nonylphenol, EDTA, borate or organic halogen compounds. All of the raw materials we use are tested to ensure their long-term environmental sustainability, and they are replaced if ever doubts arise.

A System of Environmental Conservation

As an environmentally conscious system provider, Kärcher precisely formulates cleaning agents for the machines manufactured by the company. This results in further improvement to the cleaning efficiency of the already environmentally friendly pressure washers. The beneficial result is that even more water, energy and time is saved. Furthermore the cleaning agent can be precisely dosed in most of Kärcher's pressure washers. This reduces waste water production to a minimum.

Sustainable down to the Packaging

We insist on the high recyclability of our packaging. Our innovative foldable detergent pouches result in significantly less packaging material. The foldable pouches are sold with 500 ml of concentrate, and the customers fill them with water at home right before using. This means a decrease in volume of 80% in comparison to 5-litre canisters, and both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are significantly reduced. Furthermore our production sites in southern Germany ensure short transport routes.
