KÄRCHER at Expo 2008 in Zaragoza

Pumping, treating and dispensing water
Winnenden, 13 June 2008 – “Water and Sustainable Development” is the motto of Expo 2008, the international fair currently being held in Zaragoza, Spain. The German Pavilion features no fewer than three contri butions from cleaning equipment manufacturer Kärcher of Winnenden, Germany.
Pumps from the KÄRCHER garden range feed the water feature on the pavilion’s spectacular facade. It ejects a dramatic spray mist from hundreds of nozzles. A WTC 500 RO type mobile water treatment system is used to illustrate the provision of drinking water as part of disaster relief efforts. It converts salt and fresh water from chemically, biologically or atomically polluted sources into clean drinking water. Finally, at the end of their tour of the pavilion visitors can seek refreshment at six Kärcher water dispensers. Up to 6,000 visitors a day enjoy the chilled water, which is hygienically pure after passing through a variety of filters.

Expo 2008 runs from 14 June to 14 September. The exhibition pavilions are open to visitors daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the grounds stay open until 3 a.m. The 25-hectare exhibition site is close to the city centre in a bend of the River Ebro. More than 100 countries and organisations are taking part in this year’s Expo.
