Dam is being a great tourist attraction Today was held a press conference at the Oleftal dam. There was presented a film concerning this project which was just completed yesterday evening (short version please see front page). Tourism in the surrounding of Hellenthal is the second main pillar for this region. "This work of art added another attraction to our region", said the mayor Manfred Ernst very enthusiastic.
Meanwhile Klaus Dauven developed a new method for the "high-pressure cleaner pencil". To produce long and straight lines he points the water jet constantly onto the wall whilst Wolfgang Hörnchen lifts the gondola along the concrete wall. "This enables us to work very efficiently and the lines become very even", says the artist. In the meantime the pike is completed and the zander already has a dorsal fin.
Just have a look to the original "Wild-Wechsel" motive on the spot during the Easter days! Nearby attracts the National Park Eifel with the narcissus bloom. The workings at the dam will rest from Good Friday until Easter Monday, and on Tuesday they will be proceeded with high-pressure.
