Grönholm wins Rallye in Sardinia
(bke) Marcus Grönholm won the World Rally Championship in Sardinia. Team mate Mikko Hirvonen came in second with his Ford Focus RS, Sébastian Loeb (Citroen) quit due to a driving failure. Thus Marcus Grönholm enlarged his lead in the driver's standing to 55 points and is now seven points ahead Loeb. Meanwhile Ford is remarkably leading in the manufacturer's standing with 99 points.
Although there have been changing and partly strong winds Marcus Grönholm is ahead on the gravel tracks in Sardinia. "It is a great feeling to be back on top of the podium", said the Finn regarding his 27th WRC victory. "The team deserves this result because everyone has been working so hard for the victory."

The next race will be the Acropolis Rallye from June 1 through 3 in Greece.
