Systematic management in all aspects of environmental protection is a tradition at KÄRCHER. As early as 1996, the environmental management system of KÄRCHER Winnenden was the first in its industry to receive certification in accordance with the international ISO 14001 standard. Since the spring of 2001 all KÄRCHER's manufacturing plants in Germany have been certified. Preparations are under way for certification of our factories in Italy, the U.S. and Brazil.
A management system does not run itself. Our central environment department coordinates KÄRCHER's environment protection activities throughout the world – with the aid of environment officers at factory level. Everything else is done in a large number of different departments – be it environment controls, emissions monitoring, waste or hazardous materials management. At KÄRCHER, environmental management is everyone's business.
