Environmental advice on using KÄRCHER products
Cleaning agents
  • Use the correct dosage (see instructions on packaging)
  • Do not allow undiluted cleaning agent to flow down the drain or into the environment. On the other hand, waste water containing cleaning agent should be discharged into a waste water drain not into the environment.
Steam cleaners and ironing stations
  • Regulate the water flow rate
  • Clean several areas of the household in one session – heat up the unit once to save electricity.
  • Draw up a cleaning schedule
  • Switch off the unit when it is not in use – reduce power consumption
High-pressure cleaners
  • Use a Servopress trigger gun for effectively controlling the water flow rate directly on the trigger gun - save water
  • Reduce pressure on the machine,– save energy and water
  • Use hot water only if it is absolutely necessary for achieving the required result.
  • On hot water high-pressure cleaners, take care when handling oil and fuel. Avoid spills. Provide oil separator and binding agent for emergencies. Never allow oil or fuel to flow down the drain.
  • Use correct dose of cleaning agent – not too much, not too little. See instructions on packaging.
  • Use rainwater (a filter mounting kit is available as a special accessory)
  • Discharge waste water into a waste water drain (e.g. car wash), not into the environment
  • Draw up a cleaning schedule
Scrubber driers
  • Closed water circuit version saves water.
  • Use correct dose of cleaning agent – not too much, not too little. See instructions on packaging.
  • Discharge waste water into a waste water drain, not into the environment
Sweepers
  • Equip unit with optional catalytic converter and particulate filter – to reduce emissions.
  • Regulate motor speed – to reduce power consumption and noise.
  • Cleaning the filter regularly helps reduce dust emissions.
  • Select right brush and adjust it properly to increase efficiency and avoid unnecessary power consumption.
  • On petrol-powered sweepers, take care when handling oil and fuel. Avoid spills. Provide oil separator and binding agent for emergencies. Never allow oil or fuel to flow down the drain.
Dry vacuums
  • Change the filter regularly or clean the fabric filter to improve performance and reduce power consumption.
  • Use a lower watt setting for vacuuming – this saves power and has little effect on cleaning performance.
  • Select the right tool for each job – to improve performance and save power.
  • Special cartridge filter (HEPA) reduces dust emissions
  • Electric suction brush (ESB) improves cleaning efficiency, reduces usage time and power consumption.
  • Use RoboCleaner in place of a normal vacuum cleaner because the robot consumes far less power and is quiet.
Wet and dry vacuums
  • In case of dangerous or very fine dusts, use professional units with special filters (so-called safety vacuums). Dispose of filters properly as hazardous waste.
  • Using the filter shaker (on models K2701 and K2801) reduces consumption of main filters
"Puzzi" spray extraction cleaners
  • Use cleaning agent with neutral pH value (e.g. RM 760) to reduce burden on waste water. You can easily monitor the quantity of cleaning agent by using KÄRCHER RM 760 tablets.
  • Pre-treat heavily soiled areas with cleaning solution (allow to act for about 15 min) to reduce usage time and power consumption.
Window washers
  • Use the correct dose of cleaning agent.
  • Discharge waste water into a waste water drain, not into the environment.
General
  • Please dispose of packaging in accordance with environmental requirements: Packaging materials can be recycled. Do not throw packaging in the household garbage can, have it recycled.
  • Please dispose of old machines in accordance with environmental requirements: Old machines contain valuable materials that can be recycled. Spent batteries, waste oil and similar materials must not get into the environment. For this reason old machines should be taken to an approved collection point for proper disposal.
  • Please dispose of batteries in accordance with environment requirements: Batteries contain substances that must not get into the environment. Please take them to an approved collection point for proper disposal.
  • Replace an old machine with a new one: Better performance and greater energy efficiency protect the environment.
