Ford won double at the WRC in Finland
The Ford drivers Marcus Grönholm and Mikko Hirvonen started with new racing cars Focus RS WRC 07 after the summer recess in Finland. In their home country they left behind their competitor Sébastian Loeb (Citroen) and came in first and second fulminant.
Marcus Grönholm also entered the record books when winning the "1000 lake Rallye": No one before has managed to win a WRC event seven times except him! Several 100,000 supporters cheered for the "flying Fin" along the route who won 20 of 23 speed tests. The average speed was 132 kph at the fastest race of the season!

Now Ford dominates the manufacturer's standings with a winning margin of 40 points ahead Citroen. Marcus Grönholm leads in the driver's standing, Mikko Hirvonen is on position 3.

The next race will take place from August 17 until 19 in Germany (Treves).
