The Catalunya Rally was a clear-cut affair for Citroën. While Ford driver Marcus Grönholm got the choice of tyres wrong on day one and lost a lot of time as a result, Frenchman Sébastien Loeb had the rally under control and celebrated his 34th victory in the FIA World Rally Championship. His team-mate Daniel Sordo, who was on home ground, was second.
