Facts & figures about the fiscal year 2013
Kärcher looks back on another successful financial year. The family company has once again succeeded in finishing the year with a record turnover, creating numerous jobs and increasing its market share worldwide. 2013 the world market leader exceeded the important 2 billion euro turnover mark and with 12.5 million machines sold, achieved the highest number of units in the company’s history.
Innovation was again one of the most important factors for success: 90 % of Kärcher products are not more than five years old. In 2013 alone, the company launched more than 120 new products and filed 50 new patent applications. For the first time in the company’s history, the milestone of 500 active patents was reached.
In 2013, Kärcher once again supported many charitable, social and cultural organisations in numerous countries and was active in environmental protection. Kärcher is a partner of SOS Children’s Villages and a member of the UN Global Compact Network. In addition, the company built a constructed wetland in Colombia together with the Global Nature Fund. This cleans the wastewater of a town with a population of 4,000 in a natural way. Kärcher also contributed to the preservation of valuable monuments with its expertise and technology: the London Eye and the Grand Cascade in the Nymphenburg Palace grounds in Munich were among the many monuments freed of material-damaging contamination.
